New Dell Laptop

The new Dell Laptop is coming called "Adamo".  The rumor is that the Adamo will be an ultra thin laptop to compete with Apple's Macbook Air. According to multiple sources, the rumors seem to have started with fashion site UptownLife reporting that "Rumor has it that Dell is coming out with a computer called Adamo that will rival the MacBook Air." However, the article at UptownLife has since been removed, so it's unclear now how valid its claims were.

At Dell's own blog, there are no mention of making laptops thinner, but instead a discussion on making its computers and production greener and more energy efficient. The blog specifically attacks Apple, claiming that Apple advertises itself as a green company without taking all the necessary steps to actually be one (which is ironically very similar to Apple's ads against Microsoft and Vista). It seems like Dell is trying to compete with Apple's environmental image rather than its design image. According to the anonymous source that Dell will be marketing the Adamo as "the world's thinnest laptop" and will be made available as early as February. Well, let's see about that, may be it's true!

Google page rank

Is page rank really gone? I'm very unlucky because when I created my blog the google page rank was not updating and until now still no update and of course my blog has no rank at all. I hope there are other ranking system that will replace google PR, there are marketplaces for bloggers only recognize google PR and I'm very very unfortunate.

Cisco Experience

I am an Industrial Engineer with masters earned units in Information Technology. My project is still pending that’s why I haven’t graduated yet in Masters in IT. One subject I liked during my class in IT is the networking. We were so lucky because our school is affiliated with Cisco Academy, it is online based training, and we studied and took exam through the Cisco Academy network. It was unforgettable experience, their training materials was so comprehensive. You will learn networking technologies from basic LAN wiring and topology to advanced networking such as setting up world-wide-web network and administration of routers and servers, of course, all networking hard wares like routers are all Cisco brands.

There are emails from time to time from Cisco Academy to inform their alumni for schedule of Cisco certification. I’m looking forward for that certification but for now I have to finish my IT project to get my degree in Master in Information Technology. My current job as Industrial Engineer is very tough this year and I can’t focus with IT project for school. I planned to make IT projects which related and applicable to my current work so that I can have accomplishments for both sides. There is a proposal from my boss and I’m currently looking the possibilities to pursue the project as a project also for my completion in school.

For me, it’s good to combine the Industrial Engineering concepts with the Information Technology concepts, possessing this knowledge enable me to be more competent and keep updated with current technologies.

Microsoft e-learning tool

I just read from the news today that Microsoft uses internet cafes to deliver e-learning tool. It is free but the portal is only accessible to internet cafe accredited by Microsoft. Meaning, the users will pay only the hourly charge of the internet cafe.It has been said that the portal carries 16 courses including basic training on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Microsoft Office applications. This is another marketing strategy from Microsoft to promote their software products.
